Rooted Side Table / Ash, discarded street branches Sometimes, we forget that the things we use, the furniture we surround ourselves with come from the mother nature and that they eventually will go back to her. It is a depleting cycle that we live in and so will it be for our children and our grandchildren. The top of the Rooted Side Table takes a form of an ordinary side table, transitioning down to what seems like the roots of the tree. It was created in collaboration with Brooke Osbourne, a student from Brown University, as a part of RISD x Brown STEAM project. Through the piece, we hoped that people would take a moment to think about the roots of the furniture we use, the objects we often take for granted and appreciate their values in our lives.
