What defines a chair? Does it have to have a certain look? We sit in many ways on different surfaces - on a staircase, the street curb, on the floor, the roof, a fence, on a tree trunk, a giant rock or pretty much anything that could support your weight. If these were cropped out of the context and placed elsewhere with you still sitting on it, would you call it a chair?
Pivot explores different surface levels and invites the sitter to interact with the piece to experience numerous ways of sitting. The seat pivots to change the orientations of the chair, which then alters the dimensional relationship between the seat, the back/armrest and the footrest.
