Orbit (2018) Camira fabric, plywood
The design of Orbit reflects upon our body in a sitting position. The core sits in the center while our limbs and the upper body continue to shift and move. Made with materials that are commonly used in the industry production, Orbit seems like it would comfortably fit in a context of our everyday living. The disconnected parts of the armrest and the footrest, however, adds an unexpectedness to the experience. These parts are meant to be cues for users to think about how we adjust ourselves to reach an optimal level of comfort and also how each component supports different parts of our body.
